Privacy Policy and Notice

Hong Kong International Ltd. (HK-214541) (hereinafter referred to as "HKIPG", "we", "us", or "our") has developed this Privacy Policy and Notice in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act and applicable laws and regulations of Taiwan to inform you of how we may collect, retain, process, share, and transfer your Personal Data when you use the services offered and provided by us ("Services").

This Privacy Policy and Notice applies to the Personal Data provided by you when you visit our website ("Sites") at www.hkipg.com or use our Services. It does not apply to your Personal Data provided on other websites, mobile applications, or services that we do not own or control.

HKIPG is validated against the external network vulnerability scan requirements of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and complies with PCI DSS level 1 standards.

Definitions

"Account" refers to an account created on our Sites or to use our Services.

"Device Information" refers to information about the device used to access our Services, including device type, model, operating system, browser type, unique device identifiers, IP address, and diagnostic data.

"Geolocation Information" refers to data determining your geographic location from your IP address, GPS, Wi-Fi signals, or similar technologies.

"Merchant" refers to any party onboarded to accept credit/debit cards, FPX, and other payment methods to receive payments and conduct transactions using the Services.

"Participant" refers to any individual or entity involved in a transaction facilitated through our Services.

"Personal Data" refers to data that can directly or indirectly identify an individual.

"Technical Usage Data" refers to data automatically collected such as transaction logs, page views, session durations, and error logs.

"Users" refers to individuals who access, interact with, or use our Services, the Sites, or related applications.

Your Acknowledgment and Consent

Personal Data provided to HKIPG will generally be kept confidential. By visiting our Sites, using our Services, and/or providing us with your Personal Data, you hereby consent and authorize us to collect, retain, process, use, share, transfer, and/or disclose your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Notice. You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Privacy Policy and Notice, including our use and processing of your Personal Data.

If you have provided or disclosed the Personal Data of individual third parties—or, if you are acting on behalf of a corporation and have provided or disclosed Personal Data of individual third parties, such as directors, shareholders, employees, authorized signatories, agents, representatives, or others—you hereby represent and warrant to us that you have obtained the necessary consent from such individuals. You confirm that you are authorized to provide their Personal Data to us for use, processing, and/or disclosure in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Notice.

What Types of Personal Data Do We Collect?

We may collect the following information about you when you visit our sites or use our services or when you provide your personal data to use or when we receive information from a third party,  including the following: 

  • Registration and Use Information – When you register to use our Services by creating and maintaining an Account, we will collect Personal Data as needed. Depending on the Services you access, this may include, but is not limited to: your full name, government-issued identification number (e.g., passport or national ID), age, gender, company name, business registration number, postal address, telephone number, email address, employment information, and other forms of identification. We may also require you to provide additional Personal Data as you continue to use our Services.

  • Transaction and Experience Information – When you use our Services, we collect data about transactions involving you, such as transaction amounts, products or services purchased, Merchant details, bank account balances, spending patterns, and any funding instruments used (e.g., credit or bank card details), along with Device Information, Technical Usage Data, and Geolocation Information.

  • Participant Information – When you engage in transactions through our Services, we collect any Personal Data you provide about other Participants involved in those transactions.

  • Receive Money – If you receive money using our Services, we collect Personal Data such as the sender’s full name, identification number, postal address, phone number, and financial account details. The scope of data required may vary depending on the specific Service used.

  • Affiliate Programme – If you participate in our affiliate or referral programs, we may collect Personal Data from you about referred parties, or from them about you, to facilitate the invitation or onboarding process. This may include names, mobile numbers, and email addresses.

  • Optional Services or Features – If you engage with optional or enhanced Services, or specific online features not typically offered, we may collect additional Personal Data relevant to your request. A separate notice may be provided at the point of collection if the use of this information differs from this Privacy Policy.

  • Information from Third-Party Sources – We may obtain Personal Data from trusted third-party sources such as Merchants, data providers, or credit bureaus, in accordance with applicable laws.

Other Interactions – We may collect Personal Data during your interactions with us via social media, events, marketing campaigns, promotions, surveys, or customer service communications.

Why Do We Retain Your Personal Data?

We retain your Personal Data to fulfill our legal or regulatory obligations, support our business operations, and provide our Services to you. We may retain Personal Data for longer than legally required if doing so aligns with our legitimate business interests and is not prohibited by applicable laws.

If your Account is closed, we will take reasonable steps to mask or anonymize your Personal Data and related information. However, we may retain and access such data for as long as necessary to comply with applicable laws—such as for dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or regulatory compliance. We will continue to use and disclose retained Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Notice.

Do We Share Your Personal Data?

We may share your Personal Data or other information about you with others, including the following parties, in a variety of ways as described in this Privacy Policy and Notice:

  • With other members of the HKIPG corporate group: We may share your Personal Data with members of the HKIPG group of entities, including our holding, subsidiary, related, affiliated, and any future entities.

  • With service providers: We may share your Personal Data with third-party service providers who perform services and functions on our behalf or at our direction.

  • With other parties to transactions when you use the Services:
    We may share information about you and your Account with the other parties involved in processing your transactions (including those located outside of Taiwan). This includes Participants, other Users (such as those you send or receive funds from), Merchants, and their service providers when you use the Services to pay for goods or services. This information may include, without limitation:

    • Personal Data and Account information;

    • Information that helps other Participants resolve disputes and detect or prevent fraud; and

    • Aggregated data and performance analytics.

  • With other third parties for our business purposes or as required by law:
    We may share your information with other parties (including those located outside of Taiwan) for HKIPG’s legitimate business purposes or as required under applicable law.

  • With your consent:
    We will share your Personal Data and other information with your consent or direction, including if you authorize an account connection with a third-party platform or service.

Why Do We Process Your Personal Data?

We may process your Personal Data and any other information collected for the following purposes (the list may not be exhaustive):

  • To operate the Sites and provide the Services, including to:

    • Facilitate transactions;

    • Initiate payments or send money;

    • Authenticate your identity and access to your Account;

    • Communicate with you about your Account, the Sites, the Services, or HKIPG;

    • Create an account connection between your Account and a third-party account or platform;

    • Perform creditworthiness and other financial standing checks, evaluate applications, and compare information for accuracy and verification;

    • Keep your Account and financial information up to date;

    • Provide customer support.

  • To manage our business needs, including monitoring, analyzing, and improving the performance of the Services and Sites, and to help Merchants better understand Users and enhance their experiences.

  • To assess and manage risk, prevent abuse of our Sites and Services, and detect and prevent fraud involving HKIPG, our Users, Participants, business partners, strategic ventures, Merchants, and others.

  • To provide personalized Services, and to market and promote HKIPG’s products and Services on third-party websites and online platforms, as well as those of unaffiliated businesses.

  • To tailor marketing content and site experiences based on your interests across HKIPG and third-party websites.

  • To use cookies and other tracking technologies to deliver Services and collaborate with third parties such as Merchants, advertisers, or analytics companies.

  • To enhance the security of the Sites and Services, and provide location-specific functionality, content, or offers when you share Geolocation Information (e.g., advertising, search results, recommendations).

  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce the terms of our Sites and Services, including responding to legal processes or regulatory requirements under the laws of Taiwan or any other applicable jurisdiction (including credit card network rules).

  • To prevent physical harm or financial loss.

  • To report suspected illegal activity or investigate violations of user agreements and/or HKIPG’s policies.

  • To facilitate a purchase, sale, merger, or acquisition involving all or part of HKIPG’s business, including the necessary disclosure of Personal Data to involved parties.

  • To support our audit, compliance, and corporate governance functions.

  • In connection with shipping and related services for purchases made using the Services.

  • To share information with banking partners as required by card association rules (e.g., terminated Merchant lists).

  • To provide information to credit reporting and collection agencies.

  • To engage in direct marketing, promotional efforts, and cross-selling of products and Services.

How Do We Use Cookies and Tracking Technologies?

When you visit our Sites, use our Services, or visit a third-party website for which we provide online Services, we and our business partners and vendors may use cookies and other tracking technologies (collectively, “Cookies”) for the following purposes:

  • To recognize you as a User or Participant and to customize your online experiences, the Services you use, and other online content and advertising;

  • To measure the effectiveness of promotions and perform analytics; and

  • To mitigate risk, prevent potential fraud, and promote trust and safety across our Sites and Services.

Certain aspects and features of our Services and Sites are only available through the use of Cookies. If you choose to disable or decline Cookies, your use of the Sites and Services may be limited or unavailable.

What Privacy Choices Are Available to You?

You have choices regarding the privacy practices and communications described in this Privacy Policy. Many of your options may be presented when you sign up for or use our Services or during your navigation of the Sites. Instructions and prompts may be provided in the user experience.

Choices Relating to the Personal Data We Collect

  • Personal Data: You may choose not to provide Personal Data when requested by HKIPG; however, doing so may render certain Services—or all Services—unavailable to you.

  • Location and Device-Level Information: The device you use to access the Sites or Services may collect information about you, such as Geolocation Information and usage data, which HKIPG may use to provide and enhance the Services.

Choices Relating to Cookies

  • You may manage your cookie preferences via your browser or device settings. For example, you can delete, disable, or block certain Cookies and tracking technologies. However, disabling Cookies may affect the availability or functionality of core features and Services.

  • You may also be prompted whether to allow a Service or Site to “remember” certain details about you. We will use Cookies and tracking technologies only to the extent permitted by you

How Do We Protect Your Personal Data?

We maintain technical, physical, and administrative security measures designed to provide reasonable protection for your Personal Data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration. These measures include firewalls, data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers, and access authorization controls.

While we are committed to securing our systems and Services, you are responsible for safeguarding your password(s) and the confidentiality of your Account or profile registration information. You are also responsible for ensuring that the Personal Data we maintain about you is accurate, complete, not misleading, and current. We are not responsible for securing any Personal Data that is shared with a third party through an account connection you have authorized.

Please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. Although we strive to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted online. Accordingly, any transmission is carried out at your own risk.

Direct Marketing

You hereby consent for us to use your Personal Data for marketing, promotion, direct marketing, and cross-selling purposes. We may use your Personal Data to provide you with information about our own services and products as well as those of third parties, which may be relevant to your interests, unless you have requested otherwise.

We may, in some circumstances, disclose your Personal Data to preferred merchants and strategic partners. Such disclosure will only occur where you have subscribed to particular products and/or Services that require such disclosure, and/or where your consent has been obtained, subject at all times to any laws and regulations applicable to HKIPG.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that third parties with whom we share your Personal Data maintain appropriate privacy and confidentiality obligations.

In addition, you are deemed to have given your consent to receive ongoing communication from us regarding our products, Services, promotions, and other matters that we believe may be of interest to you from time to time.

Your rights to access, limit, correct, and update your Personal Data

Language

This Privacy Policy and Notice is issued in English. In the event of any discrepancy between translations, the English version shall prevail.

Revision of this Privacy Policy

HKIPG has the right to modify, update, or amend the terms of this Privacy Policy and Notice from time to time. Where the Privacy Policy and Notice is revised, the revised Privacy Policy and Notice will be posted on our Sites and/or communicated to you via any other means of communication deemed suitable by us. If you continue to use our Services, you shall be deemed to have agreed to accept such changes.
